Year 11 Annual Exams – UPDATE

Students and parents/guardians are asked to note the following measures being put in place due to the schools’ closure on Monday 15th March 2021.

  1. The Year 11 Annual Exams scheduled from 15th to 26th March 2021 will recommence on Monday 19th April 2021 following the timetable attached to this Letter Circular and depending upon schools re-opening.
  2. Unless school closure continues to be enforced, the second session of Annual Exams for Maths, English Language and English Literature, Maltese and Physics will take place at a set date after all the exams from the first session have been sitting for. This will give students a second opportunity to sit for exams of these core subjects.
  3. Year 11 students who, for any reason, may have missed any or all the Annual Exams will have their SSC&P Certificate-based on an elaboration of the marks obtained, as applicable, in:
    a) The Half-Yearly Exams mark for Year 10;
    b) The assessment scores obtained in Year 10;
    c) The Annual Exams marks for Year 9.
  4. These measures are being taken so that students deemed as vulnerable, students who were on mandatory quarantine during the Annual Exams period and students who were not able to sit for the Annual Exams will still be awarded the SSC&P Certificate. This will ensure that students are able to continue in further and higher education during the next academic year.

Please note that the Maltese (Rotta 1) examination is to be held on the same date and in the same session as the Maltese (Karta 2) Letteratura examination.

So, on Monday, 19th April 2021 in the First Session:

  • Track 1 students will be doing the Malti Rotta 1 exam followed by the Listening Comprehension (which is of 15 minutes duration) and
  • Track 2 and Track 3 students will be doing the Malti – Karta 2 (Il-Letteratura) exam.

Thank you for your cooperation.
