Studenta ppremjata talli tgħin oħra li għandha sfidi ta’ komunikazzjoni
(Mill-websajt tat-TVM…) Kylie Grech, studenta ta’ 11-il sena li tattendi l-Iskola Sekondarja ta’ Ħal Kirkop li tagħmel parti mill-Kulleġġ San Benedittu, hija r-rebbieħa tal-Premju Papa Ġwanni XXIII għat-Tjubija 2021 organizzat mill-Laboratorju tal-Paċi.
Din it-tfajla ta’ kuljum tagħti s-sapport tagħha lil ħabiba tagħha, Valentina Mifsud, li għandha sfidi ta’ komunikazzjoni.
Waqt iċ-ċerimonja fil-Palazz ta’ Sant’Anton, il-President ta’ Malta George Vella ppreżenta l-midalja lil Kylie Grech.
“Kylie u Valentina wrewna tip ta’ tjubija li għandha sservi ta’ tagħlima u eżempju għalina lkoll”, stqarr il-President George Vella.
Fid-diskors tiegħu, il-President tkellem dwar l-għaqda nazzjonali li fisser kif tintwera wkoll f’għemejjel żgħar bħalma huma ta’ Kylie u Valentina.
Huwa stqarr li l-għaqda mhijiex għażla iżda bżonn u fisser kif jemmen bis-sħiħ li huma l-valuri tar-rispett, l-empatija u l-imħabba li jwasslu għall-għaqda.
Il-President irringrazzja lil Patri Dijonisju Mintoff li, għal snin twal, ħa ħsieb f’isem il-Laboratorju tal-Paċi jorganizza dan il-premju b’tifkira ħajja għall-Papa Ġwanni XXIII—il-Papa twajjeb.
Waqt iċ-ċerimonja kien deskritt kif Kylie għenet ħafna lil Valentina mhux biss fis-suġġetti akkademiċi, iżda wkoll biex tgħin lil Valentina tesprimi ħsibijietha.
Dan wassal biex Valentina mtliet bil-kuraġġ u, anke waqt il-pandemija tal-Covid-19, kompliet tersaq aktar qrib ta’ sħabha.
Min-naħa tiegħu, Patri Mintoff enfasizza l-ħtieġa ta’ edukazzjoni biex sa minn età żgħira t-tfal jitgħallmu jkunu altruwisti f’għemilhom.
Dalgħodu ppreżentajt il-midalja ta’ Premju Ġwanni XXIII għat-Tjubija 2021 lil Kylie Grech, studenta ta’ 11-il sena li minkejja l-isfidi li hi stess affaċċjat, ta’ kuljum sservi ta’ bastun għall-ħabiba tagħha Valentina. Proset mill-ġdid lil Kylie ta’ dan l-eżempju.
This morning I presented the ‘Premju Ġwanni XXIII għat-Tjubija 2021’ medal to Kylie Grech, an 11-year-old student who every day, despite the challenges she herself faced, has been a pillar of support for her friend Valentina. Well done again to Kylie for setting this example.
Young girl awarded Pope John XXIII Kindness Award
(From Newsbook website…) Kylie Grech, an 11 Year at St. Benedict’s College in Kirkop, is a young girl who has faced many major challenges in her life. However, she was still a happy girl who looked positive and had a heart of gold with everyone.
Her positive character rubbed off on Valentina, another girl in her class, as she, too, faced various challenges.
Valentina finds it very difficult to communicate verbally with other people. At the beginning of the school year, Kylie did her best to dialogue with the girl, and she began to help her express her thoughts. During breaktime, Kylie started inviting Valentina to spend time with her group of friends.
Kylie also helped Valentina in academic subjects. With great patience, she was able to explain and understand the content more easily. She started having fun and plans to continue her education after she finishes Sixth Form.
The lockdown brought numerous difficulties, and Kylie worried that Valentina would struggle both socially and academically. However, the opposite happened to Valentina. Thanks to the initiatives taken by Kylie, Valentina did not avoid other people and continued studying to ensure a bright future for her.
The Peace Laboratory is organizing this award in memory of Pope John XXIII.
