Hi,
Before I start, I would like to make this clear……
I am here to stay but alone I cannot make it. I need everyone to be onboard on this voyage where we set sail on a journey; a journey which will open new horizons for everyone and in the end see our students your children succeed in their lives.
It is with great honour and enthusiasm that I introduce myself on this life-learning journey together.
My name is Jonathan Portanier Mifsud and I have been dedicated to the field of education since 1997. My educational experience includes being a teacher for 12 years, an assistant head for 9 years and a head of school for 5 years. My idea of happiness is to see each student, parent and staff coming through our door with a smile on their face. My passion is to see all students succeed in all areas of life, cared for by committed and highly qualified educators, whilst cultivating a love for learning and preparing the students for the 21st century skills. I do believe in parent, student, and educator effective communication as this I believe for sure will help in the growth of the students, school, and our college.
As a head of school, I believe in the principles of integrity, respect, diversity, opportunity, confidence, growth, teamwork, creativity, wisdom, and humility. This goes well with our college and school vision as together we celebrate, embrace, and respect all the differences that bring us all together in a healthy community.
I am very proud to be the head of such a school which has a great ethos, in which the expectations of the students, parents and the educators are exceptionally high. Being the head of this school gives me big responsibilities where I must make sure that the students achieve their full potential in their academic studies and have the best influence on each other. I also believe that together we must strive to have an effective school where everyone learns effectively. Together we must always strive for the highest standards in all that we do. I take pride in the energy, passion, and creativity of our staff who create a cooperative working environment at school.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who has helped me throughout the last weeks at school. Without their help, I would not have managed to start for sure. As Robin Sharma says:
’The key to winning is beginning’.
So, let’s start and always be positive in our thoughts for there is always a silver lining at the end of the tunnel.
I look forward to meeting you and your children.
Regards
