(N.B. The term student refers to all students, both males and females)
Introduction
The school believes that to be able to develop our students’ diverse abilities to their full potential, it is vital that there is a fair and just system of order and discipline in place. The ‘Behaviour Management Team’ (BMT), is formed by the Assistant Head in charge of each year group and the Year Coordinators, a teacher from the Dept. of Guidance & Counselling, a teacher from the Learning Zone, the administrator and the College Prefect of Discipline. Together with the rest of the teaching staff, the BMT strives to help our students to understand the important fact that good behaviour is based on the values of respect, order and responsibility.
The BMT shall implement consequences for both positive and negative behaviour accordingly, to maintain the mentioned disciplinary policy. Every positive/negative report given, is kept in each student’s file and later used to issue the final certificate (SSCP, Secondary School Certificate & Profile).
One must understand that the school environment should be one where the students are educated both academically and socially. In life, every action has a consequence and school is a great opportunity to learn this. Such values, together with the parents’/guardians’ cooperation should serve as excellent foundations for our student’s future success and further to become dutiful citizens within our society and country.
Parents/Guardians
Parents/guardians should set a good example for their children. They should show respect to all members of the teaching staff and to the authority of the school. It is their duty to make sure their children attend school regularly and on time (7:50 am), wearing the right school attire and that any homework assigned is being done.
Should parents/guardians wish to meet with the Head of school, Assistant Head or any other teacher, they must first phone to make an appointment. One cannot just turn up at school and expect a meeting.
If for a valid reason, such as medical, a student needs to be picked up early from school, the parents/guardians are expected to sign at the school reception. It is important that if students are sick, they are to be kept home.
In the case of absenteeism, parents/guardians are expected to justify the reason according to the stipulated regulations – a medical certificate must be provided for every day the student is absent.
The Uniform
In every entity, there is a dress code. The school has one too. Students must learn to dress appropriately and according to place and occasion attending. Therefore, it is extremely important that the uniform is worn as expected.
When wearing the school tracksuit, white/blue/grey/black ankle socks (NOT summer/trainer socks) are to be worn with trainers.
In the case of wearing a hijab, this should be plain grey or black and not with any design.
During cold weather, students should wear the school’s uniform jacket and anorak. A scarf in a plain black/dark blue/ dark grey colour may also be worn. Hoodies, cardigans, zip-ups, coloured jackets are not permitted. For extra warmth, one can wear thermal vests.
Hairstyles
Hair should be smartly cut, not too close-shaven and not with any designs. Longer hair should always be tied back, and any accessories are to be black. Hair dye is not allowed.
Nails, make-up, piercings and jewellery
Nails must be kept short and natural. Nail polish and make-up is not allowed. One pair of studs may be worn for earrings (on the ear lobe). No jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, earrings) or facial/neck piercings are allowed. They will be confiscated. This is maintained for the safety of the students.
Students must never:
- Speak arrogantly
- Run around roughly
- Be found in ‘out of bounds’ areas
- Damage school property
- Litter
- Name call, nickname, swear or speak in any vulgar manner
- Fight, horseplay
- Tease, taunt, intimidate or provoke

In the case of detention
The Assistant Head/Year Coordinator of the Year group will call out the students who have been issued with a midday break detention to sign as proof that they have been informed of their detention on that day.
Any student who fails to attend detention after being officially informed will be given after-school detention. A further consequence of this action can prevent the student from going on school outings or representing the school for any event or extra-curricular activities.
In the case of after-school detention
Parents/guardians will be duly notified in advance by an official note from the school which needs to be signed and returned. Parents/guardians are also expected to pick up their children from the reception area, after detention.
Mobile phones/electronic gadgets
Any electronic devices/gadgets/phones are not permitted in school or on school transport. Students do not need a mobile phone during school hours or on school transport.
